We trust that the steps to create your unique piece of Paddock Way furniture are fairly intuitive and straight-forward. Nonetheless, a quick how-to may be helpful. Seeing the types of furniture you can create, and the options that are available to you, may be helpful as well. To do that go to the FURNITURE, OPTIONS & IDEAS page located within YOUR FURNITURE.

Click on any of the topics below to begin. Creating a Table provides the most comprehensive example of how to create a Paddock Way piece of furniture.

Creating a Table

The image below identifies all of the components of a table that you can customize.
When you're ready to begin (but maybe not right now) simply click on the YOUR FURNITURE and then CREATE YOUR OWN.
Select a piece under YOUR FURNITURE (like HALL TABLE) and a simple line drawing will appear in the image space.
Select a category under YOUR OPTIONS (like TOPS) to reveal a menu of icons illustrating the options available to you and the price of that option.
Click on an option icon and it will appear in the image space. Magic. Do the same for all of the options you wish to choose.

You can change options as many times as you like and in any order you want. The image and price will update to reflect all your inspirations to that point.

Creating a table requires, at a minimum, selecting a TOP, a SKIRT and a LEG. STRETCHERS and ACCENTS are options that are, well, truly optional.
If you choose FLARED as your LEG you cannot choose either STRETCHERS or ACCENTS. You'll see that those options are "grayed out" on the icon menus. STRETCHERS and ACCENTS are available for all other LEGS.

ACCENTS also not an option if you choose CLOUD LIFT SKIRTS, CLOUD LIFT STETCHERS, or FLUTED CLOUD LIFT STRETCHERS.
The zoom buttons (+ and -) allow you to do just that. To move the zoomed image within the window simply click and hold the mouse button while on the image.
At any point you can save your inspiration simply by clicking on the SAVE DESIGN button. To save a design it must be complete and you must be a registered and logged in user.
To see your saved inspirations click on YOUR ACCOUNT and then MY INSPIRATIONS. You can save up to 10 designs and can DELETE those you don't wish to keep.

To make changes to any item simply click on the OPEN button located next to the image and it will open that saved design in the CREATE YOUR OWN page.
When you're ready to buy simply click ADD TO CART and then click CHECKOUT at the top of the page.

Creating a Bed

The process to create a bed is similar to that for creating a table. But, if you're unfamiliar with that process, click here and then come back. The only difference in creating a bed lies in how ACCENTS are selected for the HEADBOARD and FOOTBOARD.
The HEADBOARD and FOOTBOARD each have 5 locations in which ACCENTS can be placed. Most ACCENTS can be placed in a single location, or symmetrically placed in multiple locations. We like symmetry.
To simplify the selection process, ACCENT locations have been predetermined for you and appear when you open the HEADBOARD / FOOTBOARD ACCENTS options panel. ACCENTS are at the top. Locations for those ACCENTS are at the bottom.

To place ACCENTS onto your HEADBOARD or FOOTBOARD you must first click on the ACCENT you want and then click on the location where you want to place it.

Some ACCENTS - solid panels of either Cherry or Bird's Eye Maple - are unique to Beds. These panels come in single-, double-, and triple-location widths. Double- and triple-width panels have their own locations that appear once you select them from the ACCENTS menu.

If you wish to change an ACCENT in a existing location simply click on a new ACCENT and that location and it will replace what is there.
As you can see from this image, the HEADBOARD and FOOTBOARD do not have to match. Panels mixed with other ACCENTS can create unique designs like this one.

Please go to the BED section of the FURNITURE, OPTIONS & IDEAS page to see a few examples that you might find interesting.

Creating a bed requires selecting only a BEDPOST and a RAIL. But, what results isn't that, well, interesting. So, be brave, throw some ACCENTS in there.

Creating a Curio

The process for creating a curio is similar to that for creating a table. But, if you're unfamiliar with that process, click here and then come back.
The only difference in creating a curio is in how CABINETS are selected. The CABINET of the Curio is that portion that sits atop the LEGS and SKIRTS.

All CABINETS are comprised of DOORS and SIDES. DOORS and SIDES can be of solid wood, of glass, or a mix and match of both.
To help, we've selected all possible combinations, all aesthetically-pleasing combinations that is, of DOORS and SIDES They can be viewed within the CABINETS menu.

The remainder of the selections (LEGS, SKIRTS, STRETCHERS, ACCENTS) are completely up to you and can be selected as they would be for a table.

What does the EDIT IN BUILDER button do?

We're heavily influenced by the inspiration of others. Maybe you are too.

Occasionally, as you cruise the site, you'll come across the EDIT IN BUILDER button located near images of furniture. Clicking on the button will open the image in the CREATE YOUR OWN section where you can admire, save, change, or buy it for yourself. Do royalties get paid to the creator? Unfortunately, no. Kudos? Absolutely, yes.
